They are flavored with anise and glazed with sugar and lemon. Sicilian taralli are soft inside but not moist and, at the same time, they are crumbly as if they were dry biscuits. They are cookies that almost melt in your mouth. Sicilian taralli are to be paired with good Sicilian fortified wine such as malvasia, passito or zibibbo
