The Buccellati Sicilian Biscuits are typical of Christmas and are made with dried figs, almonds, walnuts and chocolate. In Sicily, they can take different names, depending on the areas in which they are prepared: in addition to Buccellato, this easily recognizable dessert, with the name of Ó CucciddatuÓ or ÒCuddureddaÓ or ÒPurciddatiÓ. The dough is based on dried figs, almonds, walnuts, cocoa, raisins, jam and honey. The peculiarity, besides the shape, is the decoration icing with colored sugars.
